HISTORY
The Town of Medway is located in Norfolk County, Massachusetts and was incorporated in 1713. Originally, this area was home to the Nipmuc tribe of Native Americans. The first Anglo-Europeans started settling in the area in 1657 when the area was part of Medfield. Medway is bordered on the south by the Charles River and the town of Franklin, on the east by the town of Millis, the town of Holliston to the North and Milford and Bellingham to the West.
The predominant activity in Medway up until the mid 1800s was an agricultural community. As the industrial revolution gained traction Medway became a factory village. In the mid 20th century the factories dwindled and Medway became established as a suburban community.
